Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find Oxnard ideal for exploring and enjoying various activities and attractions. Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard, is one of the most popular attractions with an array of recreational activities: sailing, powerboating, electric boating, jet skiing, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking and deep sea fishing. One of the more popular activities are the daily trips to the Channel Islands (Santa Cruz, Anacapa, and Santa Rosa islands) with Island Packers Cruises. “The Islands” are a locals favorite for snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, hiking and camping.

The Channel Islands Beaches are the other favorite locations for locals and visitors alike. From Silverstrand Beach, Hollywood Beach, Hollywood by The Sea to Mandalay Shores (aka Oxnard Shores). Enjoy numerous beach activities, including Yoga By The Sea at Oxnard Beach Park, or a stroll down the beach path surrounding the Zachari Dunes Hotel. Scavenging for sea glass is another favorite pastime for beachgoers, in addition to surfing at the world class beach breaks.

Neptune Square at Oxnard Shores even has a children’s playground right on the sand, as well as a volleyball net and halfcourt basketball court!

Oxnard's Historic Downtown is a must-visit destination. The district sprawls over 70 acres and comprises 139 buildings, including homes in Spanish Colonial, Craftsman, and Period Revival bungalow styles. You will love the collection of shops, restaurants, and art galleries anchoring the district. Oxnard also includes farm stands with fresh strawberries, produce, and flowers, offering a perfect place to discover and shop for local artisan goods. Keep an eye out for the California Strawberry Festival which takes place annually in the summertime.
